The art of self-expression is one of the most important things we learn in our formative years. While we learn to write, read, and draw in school, we also learn how to treat others, how to cooperate, and how to express our feelings. With their new line of crayons, Crayola hopes to help kids express themselves through kindness and creativity.

Brand New Kindness Crayons

With Crayola’s new “Colors of Kindness” pack, the classic art supply brand aims to bring kind sentiments into every new package of crayons that enters the classroom or the home by naming their colors with warm words to inspire kindness.

This “Colors of Kindness” pack includes new color crayons that emphasize positivity. Their names include:

  • Nurture Nature
  • Spread Your Wings
  • Be Sweet to Each Other
  • Kind to the Core
  • Warm & Fuzzy, and more

“Sometimes all it takes is a short saying to lift someone’s spirits, and that is what we are hoping will happen,” says a Crayola representative. “Everyone can use some positivity in our lives, and this is just one way to help support that.”

Kindness at Crayola

Outside of their colorful kindness crayon pack, Crayola shows their kindness to the world through their Employee Volunteerism and Crayola Cares initiatives that include a Crayola philanthropy program.

Crayola very evidently values kindness at their company and around the world. The company donates products, funding, and community grants to children in need, as well as grants for innovative, creative leadership and team building within elementary schools.

With their outreach programs, Crayola intends to ensure that children have their basic physical and emotional needs met. They also say they believe this means giving them the “time, space, and opportunities to explore, pretend, imagine, create, and question.”

“Crayola stands for creativity, for inspiration, and for self-expression,” a Crayola representative told Be Kind & Co. “All of the products we develop are geared towards enabling kids to do all three of those things and launching something like Colors of Kindness is an extension of that devotion we, as a company, have for kids. We want to extend a feeling of positive thought wherever we can. Within this box of 24’s you’ll find positive messages tied to a soft color pallet.”

Whether you’re on the lookout for back-to-school pick-me-ups for your child, treats for trick-or-treaters, or stocking stuffers, these kindness crayons are the perfect gift to inspire “warm & fuzzy” feelings. If you’d like to purchase a pack of positive messages, you can find these crayons at a Walmart near you!
