The Art of Manifesting Your Desires

Imagine if you could simply think or speak aloud what you desire in life, and soon it would come true. Is that possible or just wishful thinking? For years, many people have believed that manifestation is key to making this happen.  The power of manifesting has been getting a lot of attention lately and has actually been studied for years (think The Secret).  So, how does it work?

The theory behind it involves focusing on feelings, thoughts, desires, and actions around a specific goal. The goal could be to attract more money into your life, buy a house, or find a romantic partner. When your focus is consistent, some research suggests that people then believe they can achieve a goal and are willing to take the steps to make it a reality. If you’re willing to give it a try, here are some helpful tips.

Power of Positive Affirmations

Positive affirmations are a simple yet effective way to reprogram our subconscious mind and align our thoughts with our desires. By repeating affirmations like “I am worthy of success” or “I attract abundance into my life,” we can shift our mindset and invite positivity into our reality. The key is to create a daily practice of listening to or speaking positive affirmations. It may seem silly, but these affirmations can be a powerful way to create change. Here are some examples: I am worthy. I am healthy. I am a thriving accountant. I am living in my brand new house. I am attracting abundance.

Visualizing Desires

Visualization is a powerful manifestation technique that involves creating a vivid mental image of your desires. By visualizing your goals and dreams as already achieved, we activate the law of attraction and draw those experiences into our lives. It’s imperative to carve out time each day to visualize your desires, imagining the details, emotions, and sensations associated with fulfillment. It doesn’t take long. You can spend less than 5 minutes doing this daily. Re-read or listen to your affirmations or sit and see yourself at your new job or brushing your new dog.

Believe It

One of the most important parts of manifesting is to believe it is possible. You can do all the work like affirmations and writing down your desires, but if you don’t really believe it is possible, energy can get blocked. Those who teach manifestation, like Gabby Bernstein and Kathleen Cameron, say to believe it as if you are already living that reality. Try to feel what it would feel like to have your desire as a reality.

Taking Inspired Action

While manifestation involves aligning your thoughts and emotions, it is equally important to take inspired action towards your goals. Manifestation is not just about wishing but also about actively working towards what we desire. Create a plan of action, breaking down goals into smaller, achievable steps. If this seems too much for you right now, try just doing one simple thing that could set you in the direction of your goal. If you are saving money for a house, put away $25 into your savings. If you want a new job, start to review your resume or reach out to one person who you think could give you advice. By consistently taking inspired action daily, you will likely attract opportunities that align with your intentions.

Gratitude & Letting Go

Lastly, gratitude is a powerful practice that amplifies the energy of manifestation. By expressing gratitude for the blessings already present in our lives, we open ourselves up to receive even more abundance. Additionally, letting go of attachment to outcomes allows the universe to work its magic in unexpected ways. A good time to do this gratitude practice is immediately upon waking up and right before bed.
